The C3S C80 Security Glazing System has been designed to counter the threat of armed attack in any area. The system can be used to provide protection to cashiers in offices where cash is handled or it can be used to provide protection to cashiers in offices where cash is handled or it can be used for external applications to protect staff from, for example, a sniper attack.
The C80 system has also been designed to withstand sustained physical attack, an aspect often overlooked when designing ballistic attack resistant systems.
Security screens have become an essential element in the design of any area where staff may need protection against attack, whether the motive behind the attack be financial gain or to inflict physical abuse against a member of staff. As the range of targets for attack increases, the areas where security screens must be
considered also grows.
It is no longer just banks or building societies which are under threat; petrol stations, council tax offices, ticket offices are amongst the areas now regularly attacked. Violent attacks now occur not just to obtain money; attacks take place on staff where the only thing being offered is advise.
In addition to security screens designed for the protection of counter staff, it is now necessary to consider Security Glazing Systems for such areas as external glazing and internal partitioning. The C80 Security Glazing System has been designed for use in these areas as well.
Used in conjunction with the C3S P80 Security Door System, the C80 Security Glazing System can meet most security glazing requirements.
The range of profiles in both the C80 & P80 systems can meet all resistance levels specified under BS 5051, merely by changing the bead and the in-fill panel.
In addition to the C80 Security Glazing System, C3S has a complete range of accessories such as pass-trays, intercom systems, bulk transfer units amongst other things to ensure that the installed system offers a consistent level of protection throughout.
operating principles
The C3S Security System comprises a range of aluminium profiles which allow the construction of most designs of glazed security screening from a security screen for staff protection through to internal security partitioning and external ballistic resistant windows.
The glazing profile has a complimentary suite of beads, which allow the glazed infill to vary in thickness to meet the required ballistic resistance level.
The C3S C80 security glazing system employs the unique patented "hook-lock" bead to retain the infill in the glazing profile.
Using a single glazing profile with a range of beads means that systems can be upgraded to meet changing threat levels simply by changing the bead and infill panel.
The entire range of profiles in the C80 Security Glazing System is chambered to allow the insertion of steel, which provides the ballistic resistance. |
