Glossary of terms:
• Fire Resistance
The ability of a test specimen to fulfill, for a stated period of time, the required criteria specified in a standard fire resistance test.
• Integrity
The ability of a separating element (the Glazing System), when exposed to fire on one side, to prevent the passage of flames and hot gases or the occurrence of flames on the unexposed side.
• Insulation
The ability of a separating element (the Glazing System), when exposed to fire on one side, to prevent the passage of heat and hot gases so that the unexposed side of the glass remains below the temperature of the insulating criteria for the stated period of time.
